  I would like a special fairy to do the 'outgrown' clothes thing. I am always tempted to hang on in there for one more season and my kids look like urchins! Well done for getting on with it! Wx

  i totally understand the crazy attachment. there are clothes hanging in my kids' closets that i can't even gift to friends. some of them weren't even milestones (ie- easter dresses, etc)...i just can't bear to part with them. but for the most part, it's done. i have an entire box to drag with me sunday to see my duck for my niece. and amusingly enough, if it wasn't for her, i woudln't gift clothes. i don't like giving clothes that have been taken care of, expensive clothes, to people who don't appreciate them. i've done that one too many times and have lived to regret it...all goes back to that weird attachment lol

  Some people have weird attachments and I am somewhat the same way. I know it doesn't seem that way, but I am. I still have clothes from when my oldest came home from the hospital and all the clothes that my kids have collected over the years. I am greatful for everyone that has helped me when I needed it. I just wish things were easier when it comes to getting rid of things that matter to you. I feel like I am letting go of a piece of my heart!!!!

  I keep so little. I have more of my daughter - first outfit when she came home from hospital - and that is about all. I had a box of stuff when my Mum died but i have mostly passed it along now. There is an egg cup that my daughter eats out of it and that is almost it. Last year when i realised i had accumulated so much stuff to remind me of people i loved i also knew that i needed nothing material to remind me of them at all. I know Redneck - they are pieces of our heart - and that is never going to be given away. love roze

  I understand Roze. My family were refugees and lost everything with the exception of a few books and photos . They taught us that the love for each other and our education were what mattered . My attachment to 'things ' is very tenuous. I like looking at the photos of my children in their pretty dresses when they were little but with the exception of baby blankets all have been given away to friends . No regrets whatsoever. Cate x
