  I stopped smoking a year ago - it was really hard. It wasn't your fault that she couldn't stop.

  I lost my Mom to lung cancer as well, wakemeup. It's a tough thing to watch. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  My mum died from lung cancer too. Today a friend of mine told me that she had three calls last night and 3 different people told her that either they had lung cancer or their partners had it. Too weird.
  I am a tabacco adict and although my mum had already given up by the time I was a young adult I still took it up. I gave up when I was serious about having a child. I kept off it for another decade but when mum got sicker and a couple of other things hit me I went straight back onto them. Crazy and stupid but I know I am a real addict and can't even have one puff or it is the end of me. I am sorry wakemeup that your mum passed on but my mum died after stopping smoking 27 years before and her lung cancer was smoking related. Maybe like my mum she had the cancer lurking around for years. I just hate the bloody tabacco companies for the way they use the community to make their dirty dollars.
