Your brick story

Forgotten. I have forgotten how to cry for years. Everywhere around me, I see those tears in everyone's eyes. I did not do anything. Why should I? It's not like by shedding those tears time would turn back. It's weak. The tears marked the shedder as a weak person. For he or she lose to that pitiful vague emotion.

Hello havennoticed, I have not seen you about here before. Welcome to the Wall. I am very struck by your brick which to me seems to be in conflict as to whether its okay to cry or not and whether anyone can really see your tears and what they mean to you.

We all cry because we need to. it's a natural emotion and a release. Crying is something which is painful and difficult to do sometimes and because it can also leave us feeling vulnerable and fragile afterwards (but tears ca also be happy too). Yes, I think that crying can be used by some in a manipulative way but I think it is more than that, an expression of how we feel. Some people may find it uncomfortable when someone cries in front of them because they connot contain the tears and can't fix the tears, but this does not mean we are hurting someone else.

I feel and believe that it is a sign of strength when someone cries. I know for my self that I will cry with someone when I feel I can trust them and I often find it makes my relationship with that person much stronger.

How does this sound to you? I am about and listening if you need a shoulder to cry on. Take good care, mooge

Hi havenoticed. You have an intersting take on crying.

I cry involuntarily but I don't see it as weak I see it as a natural emotional response to being moved in some way. I can cry with joy, with hurt, with anger, with sadness, with longing. I can cry through others touching something in me, I can cry for other peoples pain or happiness. I maninly cry when I am alone but not always,

I don't judge my crying - it's just part of me and is a wonderful stress reliever/emotional unblocker.

I don't think that crying is an emotion - more it is an expression of emotion - and I don't think that it is selfish - just natural like saying "ow" when we are hurt. Otherwise we lock our emotions away and we may as well not be human. But it still hurts too.

I've often felt that way. I've held the tears back even when it's killing me inside. I hope you don't do the same.

Tears are a sign of weakness... that's why I tried to stop, I wanted to be strong, I wanted to be independent. Even now I worry about 'emotional blackmail.'

But sometimes it's needed, otherwise it all builds up like a dam until we lose control.

I hope you learn to cry again.

    Thief x
