Your brick story

Christmas is approaching once more, and when I think about it it produces ups and downs in what I could wish or not.

The simple thought of "celebrating" Christmas with my family seems just impossible. In a certain way I just don't want to celebrate it but, in another way I know that I wouldn't say no to a nice and warm evening just with my partner.

The way things are evolving, only a miracle could make the later happen, so I'll probably stay at home and get myself engrossed by a book.

    Hello Overseas,

Why can't you just have the evening with your partner - must be possible in some way? Daytime for family celebrations if they are happening and the evening for you - a book? Hope it isn't the Christmas Carol

    Hi UM,
Well, until further notice, my partner only sort of exists in my mind - no I won't read Christmas Carols, but rather have something like a thick SciFi/Fantasy book.

Two months later, and things have been decided. I won't celebrate Christmas with my family, and as no miracle has happened, I'll be on my own, either reading or preparing the future, or perhaps trying to be creative... OS°°°

Well I might see you on the Wall for part of the day?

I had a solo Christmas one year - out of need for space rather than anything - like you I suspect just couldn't get motivated to travel to my family and it was when I was single.

In some ways it was my favourite Christmas as I was without any stress and felt it was good just to be with me and enjoy my own company.

    Take care

Yeah, I'll probably be around eating some Panetone for breakfast.

For me it's not a matter of travel with my family, as they all live in the very same area as me, about 200m from my building. It's more a matter of doing things differently, for me. We've been together too much these last years because of the little boy and other sad things. Now I can't go any further on that path as it is not part of the life I wan't.

Well it is great that you know what you want - it might be difficult and challenging - but somehow I see you as a person of strength and integrity and you would not be happy with yourself if you were any other way.
    love
