Your brick story

The vibe of the holiday season gives me butterflies. The snow quietly falling at night, fireplace on flickering with bright flames, listening to Christmas carols as my mother and I put up the freshly cut Christmas Tree.
Wearing cute coats and warm knitted gloves.
Brushing the snow from my hair, dreaming the cold away.
Seeing your breath in winter. Trying not to get frostbite while smoking a cigarette. Listen to nice music, calming music. Post-rock is my preferance. Waiting for the subway outdoors, the bright lights gleaming on you. You're holding a starbucks coffee. You get on the subway, it is rush hour. The floor is all sloshy from the snow.
Snowball fights and snow angels. Making snowmen with your significant someone. Sliding down icy hills and slipping on the icy road.

There is nothing I love more than the winter.

Oh Yesandno, we are opposites - there is nothing that makes me feel like I am stuck at the bottom of the deepest hole than winter - I feel happiest when it is really hot - don't really love humidity but I love it hot.

So now when it is cold at least I can think of you.

And when it is Christmas it is the favourite time of year for both of us - cold for you and hot for me ant xx

Really? Do you get snow where you live? How hot does it get? It doesn't get too hot here, about 35 degrees. Very cold though - -20 sometimes!!

    Take care, ant

No we live on the coast - Sydney has a harbour the enters the Tasman Sea/Pacific Ocean.

It snows sometimes inland and over the mountain range but not here. How how does it get - I think the hotest day we had last year was 43 degree celsius (109) and the coldest would be 4 (2) - are you living on planet earth - how can you live somewhere that is so cold? Are you living in Sarah Pallin country - In Alaska?

Brr - just thinking about this is makes me cold.

Wow Australia must be beautiful!! Judging by the temperature, the weather is amazing.
And actually, I live in Toronto, Canada! Hahaha, It's weird. The weather here is so unpredictable.

Hey well the weather here at the moment at the beginning of spring is 70/20 degrees and it is about 11.30 pm at night so we are already into our mild weather.

And for me - well this is really much cooler as I was born in the tropics - right where the tropic of Capricorn cuts the east coast of Australia.

My husband was offered a job once in Toronto - his mum is Canadian - so it sounded attractive until someone told me how cold it was in Toronto and I thought I would probably not cope with the summer - leave alone with the winter. My idea of a great Christmas day is to eat mangos and stone fruit for breakfast and then get into bathing togs and spend the morning in our swimming pool with the kids.

    What do you do?

What beautiful pictures!! Wow, it's very late there, I just woke up now. It's 9:40 in the morning here. Toronto isn't bad though, the smmers are pretty hot (VERY humid though - it feels like your face is literally melting off).
Your Christmas day sounds like a typical summer day for us Torontonians.
On Christmas my mother and I usually go outside and have a snowball fight in the middle of the night. And I usually end up waking up at 6 a.m. still to go open my presents. (I guess it is a habit, Christmas makes me so anxious!!). I like Christmas eve more than Christmas day. Nothing really happens on December 25th, after the morning at least. I mean, everything is closed, there are TV specials on that you've seen about ten times already. It's a drag, and there is nothing to look forward to anymore!
