  haha... Meb, the ^-^ Are happy eyes. think of the - as the nose.
  The =DD and =DDD is the same as =D
  It's just a happy face with big eyes and a mouth dropping open =]
  =DD or =DDD or =DDDDDD lol is to just show more happiness

  And I'll probably make a brick later to show you my monkey =D

  But I am sorry that you are down again - as high as we get seems to be as low as we go - thinking of you - can you make up a better symbol for a hug than () I am quite a big size so my hug would then be more like ( ) - but it still doesn't look like a hug to me just an empty space.
