Your brick story

This is a suffrage banner from the beginning of the 20th century. It was painted by Dora Meeson an Australian artist and feminist whilst living in London. It was carried by an Australian group in two huge processions to build support for voting rights for the women of England. It was bought in 1988 for the bicentenary of white invasion and was presented to the women of Australia by the Government. It hangs in Parliament House Canberra.

I love the artistic expressions of politics on banners in this time of our history. So much more than a web page - so much more permanent and a contribution to art.
