Your brick story

One of the big moments of my holiday to Canberra was seeing the "From Turner to Monet" exhibition at the National Art Gallery. The best few hours of the week. I have seen so many photos of this painting - I remember it from school and thinking about how brave the painter Piguenit was in adventuring around australia in the 1890's and being confronted by a different force of nature.

But I got to stand in front of the real painting - 2 x 1.2 metres of it. - It looks so much better than the little pictures in art books and the tiny images on the net. It was just so breathtaking. I had to catch myself and thought I would just cry. I doubt I will ever forget that moment.

That was truly a special moment for you. The scale of some paintings, how the painter manages the perspectives from one side to the other, amases me. I like that the frame is not one of those gaudy ornately carved things that look twice the size of the painting. That fram looks about right, as it allows you to view the painting without distraction.
