This is my very favorite picture of my nephew and I. He was only a few hours old and we had just gotten back to the hospital after showering. He was born at 2 a.m. and we had waited at the hospital for him to be born since 9:30 the evening before.

In only a few days, he will be a year old. The year has flown by and I cannot believe he is a year old already. I see him almost daily, even if it's only for a few minutes. We watch him 4 mornings a week and starting next week, we will watch him through the afternoon and evening on two or three of those days.

Most of the time, I catch him before I go to work which is only for about ten minutes. I'm usually late for work because I cuddle and squeeze him for so long! He's the cutest thing ... will see me and come running with his arms open wide. When I hold him on my shoulders, he will look down and around to see my face and flash the biggest smile. When we walk together, he will hold my finger and when he gets tired, he'll rest his head on his arm.

It has been an amazing year with him. I never knew I could love someone so little - so much. It was amazing to be there when he was born, to see him moments after he was born. I remember looking at him, completely amazed at this new little person that would be in our lives forever - he was a part of all that is good and wonderful.

I could cry thinking about him being born, tears are already forming. He has brought more love, more patience and more kindness into my life and the lives of my family. He is wonderfully special ...
