Your brick story

I was talking to a friend tonight about a family member of hers that is sick - very sick ... and after thinking about that for a while, I wondered about my own health.

Ever since I was a baby, I've had heart problems. I am supposed to see a cardiologist 3-4 times a year. The last time I went was over a year ago.

Tonight, I searched around a bit ... trying to see what's happening to my body without taking my medication, without seeing the cardiologist, without anything. And I got a little afraid.

I checked my pulse - it was 34 beats per minute. The average adult is supposed to be 60-101. Not taking my medication may cause heart failure.

I know something needs to be done about my heart. My father had the same problems and he had surgery for it when he was younger than I am, but my doctor (at the time) said there is no need for surgery.

I just want to say that I'm scared. I don't want anyone to pity me or tell me to take the meds ... I want to let it out that I am finally getting scared. I think it's a good scared. I think that it's time I get back on track - I think I will feel better.

A good scared ?
Definitely sounds like a good scared - a sort of the universe trying to tell you something sort of good scared?.
It would be a shame to wait until heart failure (which by the way isn't the same thing as death, unless untreated). My friend had heart failure 4 years ago and is still around but lives on many meds and has an implant to regulate heart beat. Not nice to have to deal with.

Take care of yourself and go to the cardiologist..it is understandable that you are scared- maybe you only have to be checked on?
