OH. Doh! I didn't realise that we see different times on the comments. How dim am I?

    It was your third offering!

You still aren't there - I have to go and catch a train inna rain - Ethel could do with a rain cover - when I get back from the city and being shrunk [mentally and physically - water shrinksssssss] if you still haven't got it, I'll give you a clue...

  • 04/09/2008 @ 22:00 UMxx said
    UMxx

Good grief - I go to sleep for a few hours and Jomo is conducting a fine conga line

Is it a toilet roll cover - disguised by having the toilet roll removed?

Or perhaps it is the cover for the seat on Ethel? does she have a seat?

Or it is a rain coat designed close to the dead sea or turfan?

It is very beautiful - so a shell collecting bag for winter days at the beach?

  • 04/09/2008 @ 22:07 Jomo said
    Jomo

Maid - all these are wrong, but thank you so much for jumping in and making my grin even wider -

Of course Ethel has a seat, AND a seat cover! However - this is about something a lot higher-tech than Ethel...

    A clue! Wah hoo!

(for those who do not know - Ethel is my walking-frame-on-wheels)

    UMxx

I bet it is a cover for your monitor - dual purpose a static reducer as well as a dust cover?

Or perhaps it is something to keep you SACD's at the right temperature so that there is no chance of condensation in the lazer area

Or perhaps it is a cover for one of those reusable high tech hot and cold packs that are broken to release the chemicals?

A cover for a TENs machine to rebuild your muscles as you have just escaped from the matrix and ethel is part of your cunning disguise?

Or a sound dampener for under your stereo because the low tones of the bass is too bright and you don't like so much bass in your life?

Maybe it is a sound dampener for you pc - the hard drive so that it doesn't vibrate so loudly on the melamine table - I wonder if someone could knit those and let me buy it at the markets?

And what a lovely idea - a mouse cosy - what ever happened to you meece lodgers Jomo - did they ever move out?

    UM xx

Ha ha ha ha :) Good one Jomo - and seeing that Harmony wants to win the prize so much - can we have a prize just for her, her effort, imagination, playfulness and being silly and enjoying it?

I think it is made of plastic bags k'nitted together - could be a plastic bag (made of plastic bags) or a door mat or bath mat (made of plastic bags)

Although I think you are very clever, Jomo, so it might not be an accident that I also cannot figure out the background and therefore get an idea about how big/little this thing really is....

:) well done! These ideas are making me laugh too much - so I'm coughing too!

(((Hugs))) -Mebenji *sigh* I just noted, Harmony has already suggested a plastic bag (but she didn't indicate how many plastic bags it took to make it) So, may I amend my guess to 100+ plastic bags, all k'nitted together?

Oh, BOTHER. My last post was at 8.07 my time, and the last post above that was Maids' - and Harmony's last comment that I could see was "Ethel's Rain Cover" - her next comments didn't show here until now, 18.23 hrs in Qld. Sorry folks - Harmony got it right - it is a Lap Top Cozy and here is the link to the lady who made it:

    http://orangefish1.blogspot.com/2006/09/laptop-cozy.html

How about that? I had no idea such a thing existed. But obviously, Harmony did - hmm. What sort of laptop cover have you knitted, Harmony - with looped stitches? Caught you out, I reckon!

    • Hi-Tech, she says: and she's an artist. Could it be a drawing tablet for your computer Jomo? That could just be a wire coming from the corner.
    • Harmony, you have done a wonderful job keeping us all amused with your excellent list of possibilities.

Bear. That is a wire in the corner. Lap-tops are VERY high tech. I do believe you are makin' fun o' me... tch tch tch.

I am an artist. I just may not be a conventional sort of artist. Or something.

Anyway, I'll have you know that Vincent Van Gogh didn't sell one painting when he was alive, so there.

Is that a smile of satisfaction, or a smirk, Harmony I want to know? Anyway, I was looking for something to do to Maid, after her piggy loo roll cover infamy when I found it.

So it is all Maid's fault, ha ha!
