Your brick story

This brick is for UM

"The dream is the small hidden door in the deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul, which opens to that primeval cosmic night that was soul long before there was conscious ego and will be soul far beyond what a conscious ego could ever reach."

C. G. JUNG

My Dear Overseas, How sweet of you - and yes I can see it as a door - ooh but it is very dark and I might need to be very brave to venture through that door - but I think I might like to be with what is on the other side. I wonder if it would be possible to take along a few friends for company through the dark bit? UM xx

Yes it's dark, but it's probably so to better see what's on the other side - like contrast - somewhat like for Sophie in Howl's Moving Castle. And for your friends, I guess some of them have already made the journey with you in the past, for the exact reason you're asking, though you might not remember it... ;o) os ~

Aha - do you like the Diana Wyld Jones books or is it the Studio Ghibli that you enjoy? Well for me it is both although I enjoyed the book tremendously - I bought it for my children and we read it together nightly. As for the Japanese anime - we have quite a collection.

And today I really did venture into the dark - the darkest and I am still coming to terms about what is on this other side - your brick was prophetic. If only I had known UM xxx

I only discovered a view days ago that it is a book. But I really enjoyed the Studio Ghibli work. I saw it twice at the cinema, including once in Japanese with subtitles. These stories are great for the romantic dreamer that I'm. Since a view days I'm reading Les Royaumes du Nord (Nothern Lights).
How was my brick prophetic ? oS ~

I highly recommend "Graveyard of the Fireflies" as well as "Spirited Away"

both are wonderful works. And although Howl's Moving Castle is written for a young audience - a romantic dreamer will find it quite enthralling.

Now then has someone recommended InkHeart and Inkspell by Cornelia Funke - I have read the english translations to the kids and again have enjoyed it thoroughly. It was written originally in German.

As for the prophetic nature of the brick well then I think that is a message rather than a comment here xx UM

I've watched Spirited Away as well as the Castle in the Sky and Kiki's delivery service. I was told by someone that Graveyard of the Fireflies is great too.

Yes Graveyard is very powerful - deeply political and confronting about human behaviour. Get the box of tissues ready - it is a sad experience UM xx
