Your brick story

All i seem to say. One day i will get in my van , chuck a matress in the back and take my dog and travel cornwall, never happens, one day i will slow down with work and take things easier, never happens, one day i will have more money, never happens, i think it will be on my tombstone,"one day he died", that one will happen, cheers...

Hey dilso, don't give up - set a date. Make a plan and just do it. Even if you only do it for on month - just get a taste for the life you want to live. And what is it you really want on that tombstone - make that into a brick too eh?

    take care UM x

Hey Dilso, Have you thought about asking in a TA if anyone else has ever contemplated this kind of change in their life and how they got it organised and how it worked out for them? UMx

To be honest UM i know what to do and how to do it, its just actually doing that i struggle with. I think i belong to the "anything for a quiet life" society....Half the time i enjoy my life and half the time there is something missing, i suppose i am just like millions of others who muddle through. Ayway, i WILL go to cornwall and i will slow down, thanks again.....

Well I reckon that it is possible that you might enjoy the tangle of feelings about having something that you are thinking about but not committed. I just wonder though if there is a possibility that something else is in the way actually going. Oh and we ALL muddle through - none of us are any better at it than you I suspect. What would happen if you followed the Cornwall dream and didn't enjoy it - or worse felt like returning home?

Good for you Dilso - That's right - nothing ventured nothing gained - and well you might find that you have fun or you learn something really important along the way :) I've never been to Cornwall - or the UK for that matter but I grew up on a diet of Enid Blyton Famous Five - and remember the Cornwall one - I think it was smuggler's cove so I have fairly romantic notions of the coast line and have even taken myself there on Google Earth.

Think of me and throw a shell into the ocean for me will you? good stuff mate! UM xx

Your romantic notion is bang on the money, stunning, and at 300 miles long you can still find deserted unspoilt coves and the coast walk is breathtaking, thanks to you all for advice etc, i will report back with great tales of adventure, D

I have just been to Cornwall, back of the van, me and my dog. Exactly what i needed. Time to reflect and realise what i have got, rather than wondering what i haven't. What i have got is a wonderful partner, and that is all anyone can ask. The rest just fits into place. Also done alot of thinking, and saw my life from the outside, and it aint a bad life at all. Started reading a book, called Feel Happy Now, never really been into self help mumbo jumbo, but it makes you stop and think. The way i look at it, if your car isn't working properly, read a manual, that may guide you on how to fix it, same with life i suppose. Anyway, a good few days to reflect, take stock, enjoy Cornwall and get on with enjoying life, cos' in the end thats what its all about! Thanks everyone, D
