Your brick story

I had one of my more crazy dreams last night - I was back in the city that I always go to - it isn't real - entirely fictious but I spend most of my dreaming in this city and now my way around so well.

At one part of the dream I was in an ultra light plane - well my husband was and I was in a really super large enamel basin that was tied to the tail of the plane and was being dragged along the river. It was not a comfortable or pleasant ride - and of course I was soaked and trying so hard to keep the water out of the basin. I remember saying it was a bad choice.

The enamel basin was "beached" under a big bridge and my husband landed the plane, and we met my in laws and one of my sister in laws and her husband.

Another bloke was there too Glenn McGrath. My extended family invited him along because he is still grieving for his wife and it was my job to distract him by asking him to teach me a "square leg sweep" I know where the square leg position is but is there a square leg sweep shot - I don't even know. It gets worse - every time he tried the shot - he grounded the bat and missed the ball - I was chucking it at him - something like I would throw to my 7year old son. It got so that he wouldn't give up until he hit the ball and of course he couldn't and so the rest of the dream was so boring as I stood and chucked the ball for hours on end and he never made the hit once.

Buggered if I know what this is about - yes I really love cricket but don't have a thing for Glenn McGrath - and would I really want a bowler to teach me to bat?

I didn't wake in a great mood after this - maybe I am hanging out for summer?

UM - You really are good at "distracting" people when they are going through hard things ... maybe it simply carried over into your dreams. I'm not sure. I'm horrible at dream analysis - wouldn't even attempt to try after that above comment.
Hoping you have many pleasant non-cricket nights ahead.

    Dreams are metaphors I think.

I think maybe that it was not about cricket, nor Glen McGrath - maybe about loss, grief, and about the eternal efforts you make to get things right and set things right - you will go for hours trying to get the batting right with a bowler - in your heart you know that is not the best way to learn that - but you soldier on anyway, determined not to fail in spite of the wrong tools - that you feel helpless regarding your position with your husband - can't even keep the water [tears?] out of the basin - dragged along by life until you are beached -

so I know nothing about dreams, as you can see that doesn't stop me putting my oar in...

    Luv

Yes I think that dreams are metaphors - but I have so many that I could keep my self awake thinking about ! the fact that it was not logical was the most disturbing factor - a bowler to teach me to bat - and it wasn't even my idea - when did I become submissive???

From what I've learned about dreams, how do you feel (mood) when you wake up is a very important part of what's going on inside you. Some months ago, I've made a terrible dream, involving myself and the police. It simply woke me up at 5 am with a dreadful feeling that wouldn't leave me. I've searched for the meaning the whole day and ended up discovering that my ego was trying to stop me. - Perhaps you could look for some books about dreams, Jung, at your public library.

Well that is interesting - I woke feeling quite frustrated at the job I had to do - and now that you mention it I was finishing off something that has frustrated me for a while and so maybe I was marking the moment. Gosh my mood has improved so much once I got rid of that project.

Okay all is forgiven Glenn - Come back to bowl when you feel better. UM xx
