Your brick story

I've really just worked this through and I feel like an undiscovered idiot that I haven't worked this out before.

I have kept relating to depression as if it was an external thing - it isn't it is part of me - I don't like it anymore than my fat thighs - but it is me - not a thing that I have to wear and then can take off.

It is me.

What a vital and helpful insight and shift in level of self awareness. Sometimes externalising can make something feel much easier to cope with - and that has its time and space - so allow that as part of process if you can. Bringing something in creates some new demands for self learning.
