Your brick story

Why would someone do this? So I would have an illustration for my dream story. It is one of the few things that has been weird enough for me to laugh at this week.

I know I am stressed when I have a dream about leading a campaign against the habit of biting and ingesting finger nails. Most nail biters do apparently. And although I have my regular human share of bad habits nail biting has always been one thing that makes me feel quite ill. Even since I was a little kid - my sister was a nail biter and I was 7 years younger and thought it was horrible to eat bits of yourself! It totally weirded me out.

Anyway, in my dream there had been recent medical evidence showing the dangers of ingesting finger nails and how they all ended up in a big mass of melted goop in the person's stomach and caused them all sorts of bother - this bit I don't remember much except of the footage of a person throwing up a huge ball of well half digested finger nails. It was compulsory viewing on the campaign trail and we made copies on dvd for schools and pollies and well everyone.

It was my job to go around and run public education sessions with people about the dangers of nail biting - rather over the top but I had a great powerpoint with some spectacular images and claims,

One claim was that due to the high amount of hormones pumped into the meat of chickens - not only do we not decompose in the usual amount of time but that the ball of finger nails in peoples' stomachs would actually take root and grow. After some time grave robbers were coming and harvesting the growing finger nails and there were gener factories springing up where lab workers were making genetic doubles of the dead from their finger nails. These doubles had very long and fast growing nails and were now regarded as the new axis of evil. They were being herded in to alien camps.

I had to emancipate the doubles and stop people biting finger nails or we would all be doomed.

I haven't got a clue about what it all means but it is one of the more creative themes that I have dealt with in a dream.

I got to see a lot of the country so that was good but when I saw someone chewing on their finger nail today I was still pretty crook about it.

LOL!!! Even by my standards, UM, this is :) so sureal, it should be a movie! I cannot imagine anyone ever sitting down and making something like this up from their own minds.

Perhaps Summer's computer is interfering with the electrical activity in your brain, messing up the usual flow of chemicals, etc?

Do you think you would share this with your Catherine???? I'm not sure if I could NOT share it - only to see if she could keep a straight face!

I would love to show this to the people in my writers' group - just by way of demoonstrating that there is nothing, absolutely nothing so weird as reality! So they can (some struggle with this you see) feel free to let their imaginations run wild. I'm not even sure I would have been able to invent a fictional dream for a fictional character as wonderfully weird as this!

I really do wonder, have you shared dreams with Catherine? How does she talk about them with you? What do you think she would ask you about it?

Generally when I talk about dreams they are the ones that worry me - but on occasions that I talk about something like this she just laughs out loud - I once had a dream and all of the dialogue was in rhyme - when I woke up I could still remember it well enough to write it down. It is my husband that cops the worst of it - he generally hears of most of the weirder ones. I think I have talked about the time I gave birth to both copies of the yellow pages?

I must have missed that one UM - You've simply got so many bricks, I have not seen all of them. You, Roze, Inspire, Seh - would keep me busy a full life-time just keeping up with your bricks. I wouldn't have time for anything else! (I admit I hadn't kept up with Seh - sad to say. Now I wish I had. Thanks for alerting me to Seh and Rip. - I hadn't realised the situation between them. I've been trying to catch up now though.

& I love dreams - fascinating things to me. Can't say I understand them myself much. Somethimes I think they rather skewedly reflect emotions I have felt - though I am not sure they always relate to a specific time or place or event. It may be a general comment, perhaps, to get my attention. Of-course, I really don't know.

I would like, have tried, to use dreams I've had in my fiction. It is hard though because upon waking they don't necessarily slip into consciousness in a nice linear fashion easily set to paper/computer.

If Hubby gets irritated, you may always dump them in my lap, UM. & I did laugh out loud while reading this one. I think since Catherine has laughed at others, she might pee herself with this one! (should I say that? :) )

Well Catherine will never know but personally I wouldn't want to witness it.

When Catherine laughs she cries and seems to enjoy laughing.

One day I will write out the giving birth to the yellow pages. I have a whole collection of them.

My husband irritated? Not with stuff like this - sticks to thing that matter to be cross about.

UM, oh, I thought you said you had written about the yellow pages somewhere...nevermind, my misreading...

you just go with what you need to write about okay?

I did also wonder about the clippings collection - what was your husband's/kids reaction to that? Or had you hiddent them away, only spilling them out like this for the photo, then sweeping them up and getting rid of them all in secret?

Collections of clippings may be a little odd, but not harmful. :) have fun with them? How? (Go on, use that infinite imagination of yours!)

Yes I have but I can't recall where. I don't think it was a brick though. But I could find the TA either.

Oh no the clippings are not mine - I got the photo of the internet - someone has this as their claim of fame. ooh no - I may be a hoarder but not like this!!!!

I reread the beginning of my brick story and you are right it is easily read that it is mycollection but truthfully it is not.

Ha ha, god I would not be game to admit they were mine

Hey I bought myself a new camera a cannon - has a great lense - 8 mgp -= 6X optical zoom - I have missed having one. I have a whole weekends worth of dog and cat and children photos.

    love you lots

    Oh, goody, goody gumdrops!

The really really good camera I want is a Canon - I have an SLR and lenses for it, extra, zoom, another to zoom in even more, a macro lens as well, a polarizing, lens, UV lens - you name it at least want it. Except I really ought to have waited for SLR Digital because half the pictures I took were horrible, another quarter were ho-hum. the photos you've seen on my bricks, are all from that camera, the best ones I ever took. I still have some more in waiting for a reason, a story or if I note someone in particular might enjoy...I don't want to be thinking one day "doh, I could have used that photo for (such and such)" With the Canon, Digital SLR, all my lenses from the ordinary film camera will fit the new. I won't need to re-purchase so many accessories. I also like that they keep the set tins and how their cameras operate similar form one model to the next - it won't be so hard to learn the new one (when I can get that one.)

I've seen so much on this BWW, you collecting clippings, for one, would not have surprised me; two, nor shocked me: three, worried me - as I said, not harmful. :) So, even if, being not game to admit to doing so, and having downloaded from the Internet is your 'not admit they were mine' - why bother, dear. What you do with finger and toe clippings is your business. But I have a better lie to tell - just say it is for an art project, and they are not all yours either. So there.

We can but wonder and be grateful it is not worse than nail clippings.

You go have some more weird, hopefully funny and happy dreams, which include some flying...and good-night, UM.

BAHAHAHA!!! Thanks for sharing this! That was freaking hilarious. I wonder if Nostradmus had written about a dream like this where we would be right now as a culture...

    G'day LetGo - yes it's a wild dream hey?

Glad it made you laugh - Maybe this is part of the culture that we have because Nostradamus wrote out his prophesies - kind of made it okay to push lots of boundaries didn't he?

    cheers UM x
