  Maybe you should do things in a different order- I mean, adopt a child as a single mum- if you have the capacity emotional and economical of course- and maybe then when you feel really good about yourself- you`ll meet someone.

  I know from myself that I meet more people when I feel good about myself- you can do that if you start to like yourself for what you are instead of what you might have been or done. Lokk yourself in the mirror and say" Katy-you deserve it!!

  An eveing class might be a good place to get to know someone without being too obvious.

  I agree with Alba - there are pitfalls and you can be painfully disappointed. Thing to remember is that you are only likely to find 1 suitable man in 50. That's not surprising since very few of the men you pass in the street would cause you to look twice. I should steer clear of agencies - they are expensive and they won't tell you that they have very few men on their books compared with women - you are likely find yourself feeling cheated. If its still going I think Kindred Spirits in the Friday Telegraph is a good starting point [I never read papers now]. If you want to try on-line dating, http://www.loveandfriends.com would be a good place to start - its well run and perfectly safe. Whatever else you do, exchange photos before you get in too deep.
