Your brick story

As long as no one knows my secret passion for driving games, they won't think it odd.

I just love driving games - especially drifting in the snow.

Just can't get that bit of the bush out of me - except it was a red Torana and it started out in powdery dust on state forest roads. It was a highlight in a dark time. I wonder what happened to Neal. It was a great lesson in escaping pain. I know that need for speed.

Have you done a defensive driving course - or would that defeat the purpose?

Well it wouldn't defeat the purpose in real life but it wouldn't help in virtual games. I just like playing the driving games - it's just escape except it has all of the sense working - noise, shakes in the steering wheel, excitement (and scary bits) and I can beat my own times or race the machine. I really love driving in real life too - but not city bound stuff - I love the New England highway at this time of year and I love the coast road south between Sydney and the east coast of Victoria. But my idea of driving is to do it alone and not with the car full of people because then I am very conservative. Just me in a car fanging around and listening to Radio National and looking out at empty spaces. sigh.

OH, I misunderstood! You did mean playing games as well as real driving on a real road. I have tried to play a couple games on my computer. Not with a steering wheel though. I don't like the pressure to keep going fast, to win, etc and I am not a good driver in that I hit the walls every few seconds, and it takes a few more bashes into walls just to get it on the road again. ggrrrrr - gets me cranky! I would rather a game where I could juat cruise around like a tourist on a Sunday drive. If I could drive the fast cars better, and win a lot, I would get to like it too. For now, it is too frustrating for me.

Well if win lotto can I buy you a really good wheel and pedals and then you can probably have a bit more "feel".

I have had my time in playing in real cars - cost too much money in tyres - and if you go in too hard then all of the loose stuff on the road can break the air seal on the rim and then you've got 3 or 4 flat tyres. Playing is so much easier!

By the sound of that, maybe, just maybe I could not do worse on the real road than you!
& I have noted, the space in front of my Avatar name when I pause the cursor over is is now gone - therefore I ought to be able to recieve bricks! Oo goody!

Could be true - it was an expensive exercise in wanting to turn the car on a coin. Fun though - and I like fast rides at the Ekka too!

I'm older and more sensible now ...
