today is the first day everything feels back to normal. Everyone's properly back at the office today, no one else's work to cover because they're off on hols, the office manager took the deccies down yesterday evening and the fridge is no longer full with have eaten cakes and boxes of chocolates. No one seems to have had any major trauma here, no complete dramatics or meltdown - at least that they're willing to share at the team meeting this morning :-o

    How do I feel? Relief.

    How about everyone else?

I feel an overwhelming sense of anti climax. What was it all about? Why did I bother? Really, was all the fuss worth it and who gained anyway. Back to normal - oh yes, but why did it ever get abnormal.....

I'm still not back to work yet, but trying to get back into a routine hence sitting in front of the computer instead of going for that New Year gym joining assessment, ha ha. I am so glad it is all over and feel a slight sense of euphoria for coming out the other side.

    Hullo Big Bad Wolf,

Most of us think that Christmas is an anachronism, a construct of the Food & Retail Industries to make us spend money we haven't got on stuff no-one needs.  Most of us have realised that three generations don't mix because, what used to be community, has collapsed.  Putting them [or even two] together brings to the surface all sorts of age-old undercurrents and discomforts.  A spirit of Love and Fellowship has been replaced by materialism.

So what was it that made you, and millions like you, perpetuate that part of Christmas which should have had its neck wrung long ago?

    Love BB

very good summation of "the holiday season" BB

i was able to avoid the whole mess this year, partly because of my job (sick people need to be taken care of 365 days) and partly choice...all my family is 3000 miles away and i decided to leave "those" boxes in the loft until a time when i can share them with the friends and family i love.

back to the OP...i'm feeling normal...not broke, stuffed, hungover or disappointed.

i still hope for peace on earth, joy to the world and goodwill to all people !!!!
